PRINTING

1. How is the work printed?
We reproduce artist’s images to the highest quality and standards. We use a state of the art digital inkjet print process commonly know as Giclée.

Giclée images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks. The ‘giclée’ printing process provides better colour accuracy than other means of reproduction.

Giclée prints are advantageous to artists who do not find it feasible to mass produce their work, but want to reproduce their art on-demand. Once an image is digitally archived, additional reproductions can be made with minimal effort and reasonable cost. The prohibitive up-front cost of mass production for an edition is eliminated. Archived files will not deteriorate in quality as negatives and film inherently do. Another tremendous advantage of ‘giclée’ printing is that digital images can be reproduced to almost any size and onto various media, giving the artist the ability to customize prints for a specific client.

2. How high quality is the print?
Giclée prints are created using professional 12-Color ink-jet printers. Epson, and Hewlett-Packard are the main manufacture of these printers. These advanced technological printers are capable of producing incredibly detailed prints for the fine art market.

The quality of the giclée print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.

We use the very best in archival standard papers supplied by the world renowned German paper manufacturer Hahnemühle. This new technologically advanced process gives your print a longevity the same as that of a traditional photographic processes. The contemporary art prints you purchase from Buynewart will last at least a lifetime and if you follow our Fine Art Framing Guidelines correctly even longer.

3. How do you authenticate the work as a limited edition?
buynewart take the authentication of prints very seriously. All of our limited edition prints are strictly controlled and we guarantee that no limited edition print will be produced beyond the specified edition. To ensure that each edition is strictly controlled buynewart have developed and use an unique stick and stampTM print authentication system.

4. What do the print sizes mean?
1. The size specified on the website (ie. A2 - 42cm x 59cm) refers to the size of paper that the artist's image is printed onto.

2. The artist's image printed onto the paper will be scaled to fit the paper leaving a minimum of a 1inch/2.5cm white border at the top and bottom or left and right of the print. This will allow for easy framing using the recommended window mounting process.

3.Paper sizes explained what the 'A' sizes are in mm and inches. (see directly below please include the table below.)

Name Centimetres Inches
‘A' Sizes explained
A0 84.1 x 118.9 33 1/8 x 46 13/16
